Ant-Man & The Wasp: Trailer Highlights

2018 seems to be a busy year for Marvel, next month they have Black Panther (Ryan Couglar) and in May they have Avengers: Infinity War (Joe & Anthony Russo) . But now they've released a trailer for their 3rd film for 2018 Ant-Man & The Wasp (Peyton Reed) . Following the events of the previous 2015 film and Captain America: Civil War (2016, Joe & Anthony Russo) . The film sees Heroes Scott Lang, A.K.A: Ant-Man (Paul Rudd)  and Hope Van-Dyme, A.K.A The Wasp (Evangeline Lily) on the run from the Government and fighting a new villain called Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) . First Thoughts I really liked this trailer. It highlights all of the things that were good about the first Ant-Man movie. The characters are very likeable and interesting, the action is quite unique for a Superhero film and humour is very well done. So yeah, this trailer highlights all of that quite well. 1. Ant-Man & Wasp The trailer starts out with Scott and Hope  (Evangeline Lily)  discussi

Captain Marvel First Look: Image Analysis

Photos have been posted on Twitter of Brie Larson (Room, Kong: Skull Island)  in her costume for the upcoming Marvel film, Captain Marvel (2019, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck) . This is the first look at the Captain Marvel costume. Larson will be playing the lead character, Carol Danvers, a US Airforce pilot who gains superpowers after having her DNA fused with that of a Kree, the alien race that Ronan (Lee Pierce, Guardians Of The Galaxy)  was from. She's kinda like a mix between Supergirl and Green Lantern . The film is will have the titular character fighting against famous Marvel villains, the Skrull. Shape-shifting aliens who have been at war with the Kree for many years.  First Thoughts Yeah, I don't like this costume. It looks really uncomfortable and doesn't really look like it fits Larson. Whilst it slightly resembles Captain Marvel's costume from the comics, it really looks more like a cheap Captain America rip-off. Green colour Whilst many fans are

Tomb Raider: Trailer Highlights

Yesterday Warner Bros. dropped the trailer for Tomb Raider (2018, Roar Uthaug) . The latest attempt to adapt a video game property into a film. Based off of the 2011 reboot, where Lara is stranded on an Island and must fight to survive against the natives and an ancient deity. a 180 to the Lara Croft that most audiences are familiar with. As many audiences just know the Angelina Jolie (Mr & Mrs Smith, Salt) version. Also, a video game adaptation is somewhat of a risk. As Hollywood has failed to make a successful one. Both Commercially and Critically. Could Tomb Raider be the film that changes that? First Thoughts Yeah, this is a good trailer. It properly shows all of the things that fans are expecting from this film. The action is very similar to the gameplay, the acting seems pretty good and the music choice was actually very fitting. Fans of the Tomb Raider Franchise will definitely enjoy this! For anyone who hasn't seen the trailer yet here is the link to it.

Flashpoint Potentially gets Directors - Situation Review!

Yesterday it was reported by Variety that John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (Vacation, Horrible Bosses)  are in negotiations to direct the solo Flash movie, titled Flashpoint. This is the first piece of DC news since Walter Hamada (It, The Conjuring)  was hired as Head of the DC Film division. Daley & Goldstein have mainly worked on comedy films and Variety has reported that Warner Bros. is eyeing a more comedic tone to the film. For those who don't know, Flashpoint is about The Flash going back in time to save his mother. But in doing so, he creates a ripple effect that takes the rest of the DC superheroes down very dark paths. First Thoughts I think this is a terrible idea. Whilst the two were screenwriters on Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017, Jon Watts) , which I really liked, I thought the quality of that film was mainly down to Watts's directing more than anything else. As he had worked on more grounded and serious films, which he brought to Homecoming.

Black Widow Solo Film: Situation Analysis

Wednesday night it was announced that Jac Schaeffer would be writing the Black Widow Solo film. A film that fans of the Marvel Heroine have been demanding for quite some time! Now it appears that Marvel Studios are finally answering the call with this announcement! Whilst this is not a confirmation that the film has been greenlit, it is still a step forward for the project. Also, there isn't a lot to go on at the moment, we will analyse what exactly got Marvel to take further steps with Black Widow . Scarlett Johansson  Black Widow is perhaps Scarlet Johansson's (Lost In Translation, Lucy) biggest role. And has gained a serious fan following. And yet, whilst being one of the founding members of The Avengers (2015, Joss Whedon)  and starring in a supporting role in other Marvel solo films, she still hasn't had her own film. Fans were hopeful that one would be announced after Lucy(2014. Luc Besson) where she showed her promise as a lead actress in positive reviews an

Walter Hamada to helm the DCEU - Situation Review

Yesterday afternoon Warner Bros. announced that Executive Producer Walter Hamada (The Conjuring, It)  has been named President of DC films. The announcement comes after Jon Berg left the position in December due to Justice League (2017, Zack Snyder)  met disappointing box office results. Warner's President Toby Emmerich had this to say about Hamada: "Walter is creative, resourceful and committed to excellence and will bring those qualities to his oversight of our Superhero films. He's a terrific production executive and served as an executive producer on two of the summer's most popular films, New Line's It and Annabelle: Creation. I'm confident that Walter and Geoff (Johns), working with our filmmaking partners, will deliver films that will resonate with both broad global audiences as well as DC fanboys and fangirls. Walter's a great addition to the Warner Bros. Pictures team, and I look forward to working with him in his new post." Walter Ha
