Joss Whedon leaves Batgirl: Situation Review

Yesterday evening Warner Bros. announced that Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Serenity)  is leaving Batgirl, after being signed on to the project nearly a year ago in March 2017. Whedon himself issued the following statement: "Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realise I really didn't have a story. I'm grateful to Geoff (Johns) and Toby (Emmerich) and everyone who was so welcoming when I arrived, and so understanding when I... uh, is there a sexier word for 'Failed'?"  Whilst the exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter (find the link here )  is saying that Joss Whedon left due to creative issues with the project, I think there's a little bit more to the story than that. So in this post, I'll be looking into the factors I believe caused Joss Whedon to leave Batgirl. And looking to the future of the project. Just to be clear, I'm not saying that these are de

Black Panther: Review (Non-Spoilers)

In 1966 Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the character Black Panther in Fantastic Four #66. The first Superhero character to be from Africa. And now, 52 years later, the character is receiving his own film. Having debuted in Captain America: Civil War (2016, Joe & Anthony Russo)  and played by Chadwick Boseman (Get On Up, 42) . With many considering him to be the highlight of that film. So many fans are anticipated to see how his solo outing turns out. With an all-star cast of some of Hollywood's most critically acclaimed African-American actors, and with critically acclaimed African-American director Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station)  behind the camera.  First Thoughts This film is very good! It has great characters, very good action and a really good and emotional story. I was not really expecting the film to be as political as it was. It was a bit of a surprise but I was glad that the filmmakers went in that direction. Chadwick Boseman/T'Challa/Black

A film focusing on the early days of Harrison Ford's iconic role, Han Solo. This film has been plagued with doubt for quite a while, from the concerning casting of Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar, Rules Don't Apply)  to the firing of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie)  halfway through production. Yes, Star Wars fans hold with bated breath to see how this film turns out. But for now, we have had the first trailer released, hopefully giving fans some insight into the state of the film. First Thoughts Yeah, this trailer's okay. Which is good, because even I was concerned about how this film was going to look! So 'Okay' is a good result so far. It sports some interesting visuals, some decent action and a pretty good cast. My only concern is that it seems to try and hide Alde
