Top 10 Superhero film of 2018

And so the Superhero Genre continues with another year of films! 2017 saw Marvel continue in great success with some of its big franchises, such as Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok and DC saw great success with Wonder Woman and unfortunate problems with Justice League. But next year sees the genre grow even bigger! With both new heroes, continuations of heroes and some Ani-Heroes joining the field! 10. New Mutants (April 13th) The only reason that this film is at the bottom of my list is that, whilst I was interested in the Trailer, I was not impressed by it. However, I do appreciate experimentation in cinema. And this is definitely quite a new take on the Superhero genre. By adding a horror element to the mix. New Mutants  centres around a group of mutants inside a secret facility and coming to terms with their abilities. Maisie Williams (Game Of Thrones, iBoy)  and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Shut In) . It looks interesting and I'm sure it'll stand o

Top 10 Blockbusters To Look Out For In 2018

And so 2017 finally comes to a close. and now we look to the horizon! 2018 is sure to bring us a whole new slate of blockbusters! Franchises are continuing, books are being adapted and some films are hoping to succeed in some areas where other films have failed. So this is sure to be an interesting year in terms of Hollywood! Just as a disclaimer there are no Superhero films on this list as they'll have a list of their own later on. 10. Alita: Battle Angel (July 20th) After the disappointment that was Ghost In The Shell (2017, Rupert Saunders)  Director Robert Rodriquez (Desperado, Machete)  and Producer James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar)  are taking on the well-loved Manga about a Cyborg with no memory of who she was and must uncover her past. Whilst there are similarities to Ghost In The Shell  I can't help but be interested in this project. The first trailer looks pretty good and the cast is actually quite strong. With names like Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Baster

Episode IX: Thoughts & Speculations (SPOILERS)

Now that fans have seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017, Rian Johnson)  it's now that time again to begin speculating what will happen in the next instalment of the new trilogy. Unfortunately, this is going to be somewhat difficult as The Last Jedi  appears to answer a lot of the questions that were put in place from The Force Awakens (2015, J.J Abrams)  such as who Rey's parents were, what happened to the new Jedi Order and why Luke had disappeared. And now we're left with different questions, such as: How is the resistance going to pick themselves up after being almost wiped out? What will become of the Jedi? How will Carrie Fisher's death be handled? So in this Blog Post, I'm going to discuss the points that I find are important for Episode IX and where I believe characters should be headed in their story arcs. As a warning, this post does contain Spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi . So, if you have yet to see the film, look away now! If not then please co

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Non-Spoiler) Review

Star Wars: The Last Jedi  has been arguably the most anticipated film of 2017. It topped my list of Blockbusters to look out for this year as well as many others. In fact, the hype for this film is so big that Disney didn't even bother to put a lot of effort into the promotional campaign, as the film more or less sells itself. With the franchise earning over £3 billion with just two films it's safe to say that fans are hooked on this new wave of Star Wars.  However, this film still has a lot to prove. Whilst Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015, J.J Abrams)  was a huge hit it left many fans wanting. Particularly with the story being a rip-off of the original film from 1977. And so this film needs to prove that it's more than just a copy of the original trilogy. And with all the questions left after The Force Awakens  can this film bring any satisfying answers to them?  First Thoughts Star Wars: The Last Jedi  is, by all means, the best new Star Wars film we'
