Aquaman is due to hit theatres in a week. In order to celebrate its release, here is my ranking of the DCEU. The DCEU has been quite divisive with fans, with some loving it and some hating it. I find myself in the former category. I do like what the creators have done with these films (Most of the time) and I am looking forward to where the DCEU goes from here. At the moment, the DCEU has only released 5 films so this will be a ranking of them rather than a top 10 list. Just to be clear that this list is my own personal opinion and may differ from your own personal list. 5. Suicide Squad (2016, David Ayer) I'm not going to say that I hate this movie, I actually do enjoy it for what it is. However, I can't really say this is a good movie. Yesterday evening Warner Bros. announced that Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Serenity)  is leaving Batgirl, after being signed on to the project nearly a year ago in March 2017. Whedon himself issued the following statement: "Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realise I really didn't have a story. So the Overall Opening Weekend Box Office haul has come in for Justice League (2017)  and is, unfortunately, the lowest Opening numbers for a DCEU film. Opening at $96 Million in the U.S. $14 million short of predictions, and the first DCEU film to not gross over $100 Million in its opening weekend domestically. However, It's not a failure. These are only the domestic numbers. Globally, the film has earned $285 Million, which puts it in a good place. And, with the B+ CinemaScore, heavy praise from fans and the Thanksgiving weekend coming up Justice League  can still turn a sizeable profit. The only issue is that it wasn't as big a splash as Warner Bros. was hoping it to be.  Because of this, the company may be a bit concerned with the future of the DCEU and so, they'll have to review the entire property. Look at what's working in the films and what's not. And so I've decided to come up with a list of things that Warner Bros should look into in terms of the DC...

In 2013 DC and Zack Snyder started the DCEU with Man Of Steel (2013) . Kicking off a 3-part story arc for Superman (Henry Cavill)  and the expansion of the world of DC. Being continued with Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016)  and now is coming full circle with Justice League   (2017) . The DCEU has had something of a shaky existence, with critics being quite harsh on the majority of the films, and fans were divided on the quality of them. Although, with  Wonder Woman (2017)  becoming the most critically acclaimed Superhero movie, and the highest grossing Origin film of all time, it seems that DC's relationship with the critics might be changing. So Warner Bros. Has just dropped the latest trailer for, arguably, their biggest film of the year, Justice League (2017) . In the past week, the promo team for this film has been stepping up their game. With two sets of posters for the main team, that look fantastic, and now audiences have been treated to this new trailer. But what makes this trailer different from the others that come before it? Initial Thoughts This is a damn good trailer! It has emotion, action and great character moments! What separates this from the previous trailers is that, whilst they leaned heavily on the action and presented in a flashy, adrenaline-fueled trailer, this trailer is more of a slow burner. It's that time of year again, guys! The geekfest that is San Diego Comic-Con has come, and with it, new content on upcoming films has been shown. Yesterday a load of trailers were released online. Unfortunately not as many trailers released compared to the last year's Hall H presentations. However, I was still able to find 5 trailers which really were the highlight of Comic-Con 2017. No.5: Bright This is one of the most intriguing films that is set to come out this year. Looking a lot like End Of Watch (2017)  and The Lord Of The Rings (2001) . Where magical creatures have been living in our world for a while. It follows a beat cop, played by Will Smith (Independence Day, Suicide Squad)  who is partnered with an Orc, played by Joel Edgerton (Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty) , who must protect a magic wand, a weapon that people would kill for in order to obtain. The Superhero genre has been growing heavily in since the turn of the Millennium. With Marvel Studios dominating the box office, DC slowly building the cinematic universe (Or quickly, depending on who you ask), and Fox having success with their Marvel characters. In fact, this genre is so strong that I had to completely remove it from my list of 10 blockbusters coming out in 2017, as they would have simply consumed the list. With 3 Marvel movies, a Fox Marvel movie, 2 DC movies, an animated DC movie and a Power Rangers movie coming out this year... Yeah. We're gonna be swamped!
