In 2014 the world was introduced to sleeper-hit John Wick (Chad Stahelski, David Leitch)  which won fans over with its great action, cinematography, world-building and the best performance from Keanu Reeves since The Matrix (1999, The Wachowskis) . And then in 2016 the sequel continued and improved on the story. And now the third wishes to push its protagonist into far darker territory. Now with no allies and a $14 million bounty on his head, the stakes have never been higher and the carnage has never been more brutal! Initial Thoughts This is a great follow-up to the previous movies! Definitely levelling up from John Wick 2 because everything is dialled up to an eleven! The action is incredible, the stuntwork is amazing and the world of the assassins just getting bigger and far more interesting! Earlier this year it was announced that Lionsgate would be doing a Hellboy reboot, with actor David Harbour (Stranger Things, The Equalizer) taking on the titular role of Hellboy. And today we now have our first look at Harbour in the role, courtesy of Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. And he looks pretty good!  Harbour definitely looks intimidating as Hellboy, with the muscle, the stern look and the arm. Key differences from Ron Perlman's (Driver, Pacific Rim) take on the character is definitely the long hair, the shaved horns are positioned higher on his forehead and the rock arm has more of a metallic look to it. So it's enough to give Hellboy a different look without making him unrecognisable.  There are a couple of things I'm a bit disappointed with. The Superhero genre has been growing heavily in since the turn of the Millennium. With Marvel Studios dominating the box office, DC slowly building the cinematic universe (Or quickly, depending on who you ask), and Fox having success with their Marvel characters. In fact, this genre is so strong that I had to completely remove it from my list of 10 blockbusters coming out in 2017, as they would have simply consumed the list. With 3 Marvel movies, a Fox Marvel movie, 2 DC movies, an animated DC movie and a Power Rangers movie coming out this year... Yeah. We're gonna be swamped!
