Batman Solo Movie: Top 5 Ideas

As many of you are aware, DC has many projects lined up for the future. But one that has the most speculation behind it is Matt Reeves's Batman Solo film. This film has produced so many headlines and it doesn't even have a release date yet. From Ben Affleck (Argo, Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice) stepping down as director and writer of the film, to Matt Reeves (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Let Me In)  stepping in as director and writer, and now news that pre-production has been pushed back to later this year! Whilst no points been properly mentioned I'm going to make a list of 5 ideas for what the plot for the new Batman film could centre around. I'm not saying that these stories MUST be in the film. Matt Reeves is a good director and story-teller, also a grown man who can make his own decisions. But these are just some ideas that could work as either the main story or story elements if the creative team went in any of these directions.  1. Red Hood ...

DCEU movies: Ranked Worst to Best

Aquaman is due to hit theatres in a week. In order to celebrate its release, here is my ranking of the DCEU. The DCEU has been quite divisive with fans, with some loving it and some hating it. I find myself in the former category. I do like what the creators have done with these films (Most of the time) and I am looking forward to where the DCEU goes from here. At the moment, the DCEU has only released 5 films so this will be a ranking of them rather than a top 10 list. Just to be clear that this list is my own personal opinion and may differ from your own personal list. 5. Suicide Squad (2016, David Ayer) I'm not going to say that I hate this movie, I actually do enjoy it for what it is. However, I can't really say this is a good movie. The pacing is so fast that it's difficult to really get into the story, the dialogue is sometimes just laughable, and the action is inferior when compared to other movies in the DCEU. This was mainly down to a serious re-edit of t...

Jared Leto's Joker Solo Movie - Situation Review

Last night it reported that actor Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club, Blade Runner 2049) would not only be acting but producing a Joker Solo film for the DCEU. The reaction to the news has been divisive over fans. Some fans are willing to give Leto another shot whilst others do not wish to see Jared Leto ever wear the Make-up ever again. However, I believe the situation is a little more complicated than people are saying. And, to be honest, more complicated than it really should be. Leto's Joker Personally, I think a Jared Leto Joker movie could be quite good. Leto's Joker was quite interesting and very different from other interpretations of the character. Also, I imagine Leto wants to do the character justice. Whilst I believe  Suicide Squad  did lay a foundation for a good interpretation of the Joker it also held Leto's performance back. With re-edits and poor direction really tying the character down. And audiences noticed this in the final edit of the film and tur...

DC Going Forward Post- Justice League

So the Overall Opening Weekend Box Office haul has come in for Justice League (2017)  and is, unfortunately, the lowest Opening numbers for a DCEU film. Opening at $96 Million in the U.S. $14 million short of predictions, and the first DCEU film to not gross over $100 Million in its opening weekend domestically. However, It's not a failure. These are only the domestic numbers. Globally, the film has earned $285 Million, which puts it in a good place. And, with the B+ CinemaScore, heavy praise from fans and the Thanksgiving weekend coming up Justice League  can still turn a sizeable profit. The only issue is that it wasn't as big a splash as Warner Bros. was hoping it to be.  Because of this, the company may be a bit concerned with the future of the DCEU and so, they'll have to review the entire property. Look at what's working in the films and what's not. And so I've decided to come up with a list of things that Warner Bros should look into in terms of the DC...

Justice League Non-Spoiler Review

In 2013 DC and Zack Snyder started the DCEU with Man Of Steel (2013) . Kicking off a 3-part story arc for Superman (Henry Cavill)  and the expansion of the world of DC. Being continued with Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016)  and now is coming full circle with Justice League   (2017) . The DCEU has had something of a shaky existence, with critics being quite harsh on the majority of the films, and fans were divided on the quality of them. Although, with  Wonder Woman (2017)  becoming the most critically acclaimed Superhero movie, and the highest grossing Origin film of all time, it seems that DC's relationship with the critics might be changing. However, Justice League has had its fair share of drama behind the scenes, with director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300)  having to step down before reshoots due to an unfortunate family tragedy and Joss Whedon (Serenity, The Avengers) stepping in to finish production, it should be interesting how the two dif...

Justice League 'Heroes' Trailer drops: Trailer Highlights

So Warner Bros. Has just dropped the latest trailer for, arguably, their biggest film of the year, Justice League (2017) . In the past week, the promo team for this film has been stepping up their game. With two sets of posters for the main team, that look fantastic, and now audiences have been treated to this new trailer. But what makes this trailer different from the others that come before it? Initial Thoughts This is a damn good trailer! It has emotion, action and great character moments! What separates this from the previous trailers is that, whilst they leaned heavily on the action and presented in a flashy, adrenaline-fueled trailer, this trailer is more of a slow burner. Allowing viewers to take in the visual spectacle and the emotional, and funny, character moments. Here are the top 5 highlights in this trailer. But, before you read the rest of this post, here is the trailer itself for you to watch. 1. Lois & Clark Clark and Lois reunited in her dreams...

Batman & Harley Quinn: Review (SPOILERS)

For anyone who is a big fan of Batman, Bruce Timm is perhaps one of the most influential creative minds behind the character. Both him and Paul Dini were the head writers on the Animated Series from the 90's. A show that is the starting platform for many Batman fans and still has a lasting impression on the Batman mythos. The show introduced everyone to Mark Hamill's take on The Joker, which many consider being the definitive voice of The Joker, it drastically changed Mr. Freeze's origins from being a daft, D-List character into arguably Batman's most sympathetic villains in the Emmy-Winning episode Heart Of Ice (1992) . And, most importantly, the animated series is the birthplace of Harley Quinn. Whilst originally meant to be a simple sidekick to The Joker, Harley Quinn took on a life of her own. Today she is arguably the most popular female comic book character in the medium. And now Bruce Timm has returned to the continuity of the Animated show and has created a n...
