Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Review (No Spoilers)

Godzilla is one of the most recognisable movie characters in history. Being a staple in Japanese cinema. However, he hasn't really faired well in Hollywood. There was the first movie adaptation in 1998 directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, 2012)  which many fans of the character took a serious disliking too and then there was the reboot in 2014 directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One)  which fans were nicer too but overall weren't entirely pleased. But that movie was the first in a cinematic Monster Universe that Warner Bros is hoping to continue. With the 2014 Godzilla movie, Kong: Skull Island (2017, Jordan Vogt-Roberts) and with this current follow-up Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (2019, Michael Dougherty) .  Initial Thoughts This movie is awesome! Sure, it's dumb and loud. But it's a movie about giant monsters fighting each other. It's not meant to be deep and meaningful. It's meant to be crazy and explosive! And it does that very well. So i...

Aladdin Movie Review (No Spoilers)

Aladdin (1992, Ron Clements/Jon Musker)  is one of the standout animated movies of the Disney Renaissance that took place in the '90s. With hit songs, like A Whole New World , and a Performances from Robin Williams (Hook, Good Will Hunting)  as the Genie. And now, with Disney producing Live-action of their animated classics, a Live-Action Aladdin seemed inevitable. But with Guy Ritchie directing (Rock'N'Rolla, Sherlock Holmes) having something a spotty track record at the box office, and with his last movie King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword  being bashed by critics. Not to mention the lacklustre first reactions to the promotional material of this movie. Should Disney be concerned with how this performs with critics and the box office? Or will this movie's nostalgia factor be enough to get it through all that? Initial Thoughts I really enjoyed this movie! From the trailers and TV Spots, this movie kinda looks like a shallow reimagining of the animated origina...

John Wick 3: Parabellum Review (No Spoilers)

In 2014 the world was introduced to sleeper-hit John Wick (Chad Stahelski, David Leitch)  which won fans over with its great action, cinematography, world-building and the best performance from Keanu Reeves since The Matrix (1999, The Wachowskis) . And then in 2016 the sequel continued and improved on the story. And now the third wishes to push its protagonist into far darker territory. Now with no allies and a $14 million bounty on his head, the stakes have never been higher and the carnage has never been more brutal! Initial Thoughts This is a great follow-up to the previous movies! Definitely levelling up from John Wick 2 because everything is dialled up to an eleven! The action is incredible, the stuntwork is amazing and the world of the assassins just getting bigger and far more interesting! Keanu Reeves/John Wick John Wick is the role that Keanu Reeves was born to play. Like Tom Cruise with Ethan Hunt, Reeves shows off his merits as a hard-working action star b...

MCU Going Forward (Endgame Spoilers)

Avengers: Endgame (2019, Joe & Anthony Russo)  is out in cinemas and is breaking every Box Office Record in sight! Opening at $1.2 Billion in its first weekend! That's insane! But the movie also marks the final chapter in a long-running saga that has spanned 11 years. And now with that chapter has closed it's time to look at where the MCU is headed next. Marvel Studios has plenty of movies planned post- Endgame . With several franchises continuing or wrapping up and whole franchises like The Eternals and Shang-Chi  that have been announced and will start off whole new franchises. So in this post, I will be looking into 5 things I think Marvel should focus on going forward. The 5-year Gap The first thing I want to talk about is the 5-year gap for all of those who were brought back from Thanos' snap. They all seemed to come back the same age that they died and are now part of a world that has had to adjust to a lower population. The two characters I expect to be ...
